My father-in-law was never actually diagnosed with this ailment because few knew about it during his lifetime. He lived with it from being a very young man suffering a lot of humiliation. Falling asleep in his food, at work, even whilst driving. I came across an article about 25 years ago. by which time he was 80, which made me realise, after being around him for 40 years, that this was more than likely what he suffered from. He was born and brought up in Portugal and Zimbabwe doing very hard physical work and lived to the ripe old age of 92, and drove every day for 60years with 1 accident. He was a very excuberent person.
